WHAT'S IN THE NAME?

Mindfully Align Physio has many layers of significance which pertain to your well-being as a whole person:
Physical Alignment

Proper postural and structural alignment play a major role in the reduction and elimination of pain. It also plays a major role in how your body mechanically functions both externally and internally, affecting things as deeply into the cells within you. Hormones, mood, behaviors, sleep patterns, intestinal regulation, and pelvic or reproductive health, for example, can be affected by an imbalance in physical alignment, affecting your body's external and internal ability to naturally flow as it should. Awareness, education, and expert guidance can help to Align you with your best self — the self that no longer has to settle for pain or discomfort.

Personal Alignment

Aligning with your own personal goals and values is a key component to honoring yourself and manifesting the life you desire. Aligning and working with the right person who genuinely values your total mind-body health is also very influential to your healing process. You will be supported in understanding and obtaining the necessary tools and knowledge for effective daily self care. In recognizing your self-worth, investing in your health and well-being, and Aligning with the right knowledge, resources, timing, and choices, you are taking the initiative toward achieving the healthiest and happiest version of your true self.

Mental + Emotional Alignment

Mindfulness involves pure awareness of the self and the ability to be fully present. In learning about your own body on many levels and to a higher standard and degree, you will be better equipped and able to care for your needs at any time you need to. Health is not solely a physical component. According to Merriam-Webster, “Health is the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit, especially freedom from physical disease or pain.” Mental, emotional, and environmental factors can impact your stress levels, thereby affecting pain and your physical state. Incorporating mindful practices and other modalities as needed, such as meditation, breath work, mental imagery, movement awareness, grounding & centering activities, Qi Gong, Reiki and proper daily self-care techniques can address and enhance your mental, emotional, and physical healing to support you as a whole person.

Further Support + Alignment

I can also Align or connect you with other appropriate professionals or health/healing practitioners as needed or seen fit before, after, or during your course of care. I will personally remain a solid source of support for you as we maintain open lines of communication from the moment we begin working together.
About
Dr. Rosemarie Cua
I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University and earned my B.A. in English from St. John’s University. I use an integrative approach that values and balances both holistic and scientific methodologies to help you address your specific and individual needs. I have over 15 years of experience in the field including extensive manual training in my specialty of JFB Myofascial Release (MFR). I am Reiki Level Two certified and looking forward to further self-developments in this complimentary healing modality. I also love to incorporate and teach meditation and Qi Gong practices to my patients as needed. I am proficient in Spanish and understand Tagalog. I graduated with Cum Laude Honors and other university awards in academia, leadership, and community service at St. John's University, was the recipient of the Community Service Award in my graduating Physical Therapy class at Stony Brook University, graduated class Valedictorian in my graduating class of 2000, and was an active athlete in many competitive sports throughout the years. It is my love for mind-body balance, self-awareness and serving, teaching, connecting with others, and witnessing my patients' life-changing results that make me extraordinarily passionate about what I do.
I have extensive experience from backgrounds in sports orthopedic clinics in addition to outpatient facilities specializing in geriatric care, chronic pain, McKenzie Method-based treatment, cardiopulmonary care, and Myofascial Release. I also have years of experience in the acute care hospital setting with patients post neck, back, abdominal, hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle surgeries as well as patients with various neurological conditions such as strokes.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with populations ranging from pediatrics and adolescents to adults and geriatrics with commonly treated conditions such as neck and back pain; headaches and migraines; neurological, and acute or chronic orthopedic conditions; gait and balance disturbances; as well as individuals involved with sport/work-related or motor vehicle injuries; vertigo; TMJ dysfunction; auto-immune disorders; and women's health/pelvic floor conditions. As a native New Yorker, I have worked heavily with New York City FDNY and Long Island firefighters in addition to the law enforcement community, as well as world-renown, award-winning musicians and performers who travel to or reside in Nevada.
The physical therapy profession has Aligned with my heart, lifestyle, and love for serving and educating others since I was a teen. After suffering from trauma and a whiplash injury that totaled my car which resulted from being rear-ended by a delivery truck, I discovered my passion in MFR. It was after being treated by highly skilled MFR therapists who guided and led me toward the path of authentic mind-body healing that I found my specialty. I am a firm believer in treating individuals as a whole person in mind, body, and spirit as opposed to a narrowly focused segment or pained body part. After experiencing nothing like this gentle, yet highly effective healing art on so many levels, I knew that I had to delve into the work myself so that I may share this unique treasure with the world.

I am a strong advocate for each person in my care. I provide a safe, trusted, and loving space for my patients for maximal and most optimal healing. I also enjoy spending time with those I love, spoiling our dog, going hiking, doing kickboxing, and training in martial arts, particularly in the art of Krav Maga.
I am truly happy and excited to support you in your wellness journey as we connect and Align!

HOW CAN I FURTHER HELP SOLVE YOUR CONCERNS?

My goal is to help you take care of you. If you are especially exhausted from masking symptoms with daily pain or anti-inflammatory medications or if you have tried everything from injections and traditional massage to multiple provider visits and all other alternative means without results or at most with only temporary relief, I am enthusiastic and confident about helping you.

If you have settled with the notion that you have to live with dis-ease or feelings of discomfort for the rest of your life, I am here to encourage, to educate, and to promote self-awareness about your body’s very own abilities to heal itself with the right guidance — no matter how old something is or how long you have been in pain for. I will take the time to guide, teach, and lead you to helpful life changes that those under my care can say they have experienced for both themselves and their families.

"I went to see Rosemarie after not being able to move my neck for 3 days. My shoulders were completely misaligned and crooked. She worked on me for an hour and a half. The treatment was so gentle, patient, and effective. I woke up this morning and took a picture! Wow! A huge difference in my posture! Our bodies are so important and must carry us through years of use. I'm so glad I found someone that can help me treat it right!"

"In the Spring of 2017 I was attacked on my way to work, and stabbed in the back three times. My posture is not great to begin with, but Rosemarie offered to treat me upon a visit because she felt it could help me. After the treatment, my back felt more aligned and it was refreshing to feel some relief. Unfortunately, I was not able to follow up on continuous sessions with her due to living in a different state, but I certainly wouldn't mind more in the future. She really knows the human body."

"I've been in a great amount of awe since my session with Rosemarie!! I witnessed myself in a past event and the pain I was able to release has helped me to see my relationships with other significant family members very differently than before. I'm so grateful for this experience and definitely want my friends and reiki clients to experience it themselves!! Rosemarie is very skilled and talented!!"
— Jodi F., Reiki Master, Owner of Intentional Healings
"My husband has had back pain since the day we have met. He works hard, on his feet all day long and at times has to lift heavy equipment. After the first treatment with Rosemarie he said he felt the best he had in a long time. After the second and third he said it's the best he has ever felt! I was in awe because it is gentle, all natural and showed the best results we had seen from any of the previous options we had used. My daughter who had been having GI issues and was recommended to a chiropractor for other issues went to a session with Rosemarie after seeing such amazing results from my hubby's first session. My daughter's back issue and tummy issue went away completely and to this day (4 years later) she never complains about her back or tummy! Rosemarie, her passion and sharing this gift of hers with my family had literally changed our lives!"

"Great! My team truly enjoyed the sessions and interactions from our retreat at Mt.Charleston. You guys handled the experience very well. Well balanced!”

"I sent both my parents to Rosemarie for MFR treatments after having an amazing session with Rosemarie myself. Not only were both my parents extremely pleased with the genuine care & professionalism that Rosemarie provides, they also found great relief from their chronic pain conditions! I'm so grateful that my family & I have found such an amazingly caring and knowledgable therapist."

"I had a great healing session with Rosemarie! Just her sweet, calm voice I say is part of the healing therapy itself. I had bad posture, and my hips and shoulders were uneven but with Rosemarie's help, they're now balanced and even. I'm so happy I get to do this!"

— Elmer P., RN
"Rosemarie has wonderful, gentle, and effective healing hands. After my healing session with her, my back felt balanced and my neck felt loose like a bobblehead's. My body felt great for the drive back home to the Bay Area. That evening, I slept through the night without any pain. It’s been too long since I had a pain free night of sleep. She also provided me with some safe techniques to use on my clients. I highly recommend Rosemarie for her knowledge, gentle but yet very effective hands, professionalism, and her dedication to art of John Barnes MFR."

— Nikole H., PTA
"I have been having some issues with a knee I injured a few years back so I was looking for some help and advice. Rosemarie gave me great advice with different exercises and self treatments I could do while at home. Not only did she give me exercises and advice she also explained what was causing my problem so I could get a better understanding of what was going on with my body. I was never aware how much the body was connected to other parts but now I know! Rosemarie was very passionate about her craft and it helped ease my concerns. I felt like I was getting the best advice from someone who truly cared."
